Thanks to your donations and support, Life Guard helped more than 10 local families in need this year (2019). Some highlights include:
We paid numerous mortgage payments for a local family whose husband/father passed away. Life Guard also purchased several food store gift cards for the family, helping to bridge the gap while the mother found employment.
We helped a family from Neptune who has been struggling to make ends meet due to their triplets' ongoing and chronic medical issues. During this stressful period, the father of this family suffered a stroke and the mother had to leave her job due to severe migraines. While both parents were out on disability, Life Guard paid for 8 months of mortgage payments.
We paid Cobra medical payments for a man who became unemployed just as he was diagnosed with cancer. Without Life Guard's help, this man wouldn't have been able to be in the hospital or cared for properly.
We helped a family with a car repair that enabled them to take their child to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for cancer treatments. The family has one car, and they would have been unable to transport the child for treatments without our assistance.
We worked with a supporter to raise funds for a Little Silver family battling their son's Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The effort helped off-set the family's mounting out of pocket medical bills and expenses.
Since our inception in 2009, Life Guard Ecumenical Foundation has helped more than 150 local families in need of assistance, from grocery store gift cards to utility bills, mortgage payments and tax bills.
Thank you for supporting LGEF and our mission of helping neighbors in need.
